Jessie Mei Li

Jessica Mei Li is an English actress. She will star as Alina Starkov in the upcoming Netflix series Shadow and Bone and play Lara Chung in Edgar Wright's Last Night in Soho. Her stage work includes the 2019 production of All About Eve.

Early life and education

Born in Brighton, Li was raised in Redhill, Surrey. She attended Reigate College in Surrey.[1] She joined the National Youth Theatre in 2015.[2]

Career

Li made her stage debut in February 2019 with the role of Claudia Caswell in All About Eve at Noel Coward Theatre, alongside Gillian Anderson and Lily James. The production was also internationally cinecast via National Theatre Live.[3][4]

She plays Lara Chung in the upcoming film by Edgar Wright Last Night in Soho.[5]

In October 2019, it was announced Li would star in the lead role of Alina Starkov in the upcoming Netflix series Shadow and Bone, an adaptation of fantasy book series Shadow and Bone and the Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo.[6]
