Jennifer Brofer

Jennifer Brofer is an American actress, producer, director, and journalist. After starting her career as a journalist for the U. S. Marine Corps, she subsequently went on to act in and produce several short films, films, television shows and stage plays.

Career

As a journalist, Brofer worked as a reporter and photographer for The Boot, a newspaper based in MCRD Parris Island. She went on to work as an anchor for Marines Headlines, a news channel for The Pentagon Channel.[2] in 2010, She reported news as a part of the 1st Marine Logistics Group in Afghanistan.[2] In 2013, she was one of the six college students chosen to deliver Oscar statuettes at the 85th Academy Awards after winning the Oscar Experience College Search.[3][4][5][6] Jennifer works in the Creative Artists Agency as an assistant and is an independent filmmaker.[1] In 2018, she made her feature film debut as an associate producer with Another Time before portraying the lead role in the short Because of You.[2][7] She debuted in Indian cinema with the Tamil-language film Kaaviyyan (2019), which was primarily shot in Las Vegas.[8][9] She has since produced and worked as a stage and production manager for several stage productions across the United States.[10][11][12]

Personal life

Jennifer Brofer grew up in Arlington and studied journalism at Defense Information School before graduating from Syracuse University in 2009.[2] She worked in the U. S. Marines as a combat correspondent in Afghanistan. She was first sent to Afghanistan in 2010 and worked there as a journalist.[1][13] She worked in the Marines for ten years.[1][14][15][16] She received a bachelor degree in radio, television and film at the University of Texas at Austin.[3][5][2] While studying at the University of Texas at Austin, she worked as a creative executive for Los Angeles-based Footprint Features.[17] Her father also studied at the University of Texas at Austin.[2] Her grandfather is a World War II veteran.[1] She moved to Los Angeles to pursue film production.[2]
