Jawsh 685

Joshua Christian Nanai[5] (born 2002 or 2003),[6] better known as Jawsh 685, is a New Zealand music producer.[7] Whilst a student at Manurewa High School,[8] his breakthrough 2020 single "Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)" with American singer Jason Derulo reached number one in eight countries, including the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand.

Early life and career

Nanai was born and raised in South Auckland,[9] and currently lives in Manurewa.[10] He is mixed half Samoan and half Cook Island descent.[9][11][12] The "685" in his stagename references the calling code for Samoa.[13] He became the first Pasifika person and the third New Zealand person to ever top the UK Singles Chart.[12]
