Born in Cali, Ampudia played for América de Cali, Unión Magdalena, Atlético Bucaramanga, Millonarios, Cúcuta Deportivo, Cortuluá, Atlético Junior and Deportivo Cali.[1]
He made two international appearances for Colombia, in 1997.[1]
