Biography

Koninck was born in Amsterdam. According to Houbraken he lent his books on perspective to Johannes Verkolje, who became better than he was at perspective drawing. He was a disciple of Adriaen van de Velde who became a popular painter in Copenhagen where he painted for the court of Christian V of Denmark.

According to the RKD he was the uncle of Salomon Koninck, a pupil of David Colijns and became the teacher of his son Jacob II and his younger brother Philips Koninck.[1] He was in Dordrecht from 1633–1636, Rotterdam from 1637–1645, The Hague from 1647–1651, back in Amsterdam in 1658 (when he probably lent young Verkolje his perspective books).

gollark: I'd kind of expect other people to have noticed and reported this if it is actually a general problem with these versions, since I'm using calibre and qt from the repos.
gollark: I tried downgrading it from 5.14.2 to 5.14.1 or something, but that didn't do anything, and I probably can't downgrade further without just reverting all my package versions to a week or so ago, which is not ideal.
gollark: Anyone know why the Qt-using applications (deepin-screenshot, multiMC, calibre) on my laptop recently started segfaulting after I updated my system?
gollark: There *are* already non-docker container tools.
gollark: It's running Arch Linux, the most stablest OS.
