He was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Prior to playing professionally, he attended Bowling Green High School, then Walters State Community College, before going to Austin Peay State University. With Walters State in 2007, he was 5-2 with a 5.08 ERA in 12 games (five starts) and the next year, he was 6-1 with a 5.62 ERA in 12 starts. In 2009, his first year at Austin Peay, he was 3-3 with a 7.33 ERA in 14 games (10 starts). After being redshirted in 2010 due to a torn labrum,[1] he was 4-6 with a 3.50 ERA in 19 games (four starts) during his final year of college.[2]

The Giants drafted him in the 27th round of the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft.[3][4] With the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes in 2011, Snodgrass was 4-1 with a 3.59 ERA in 19 games (4 starts). He was 10-8 with a 4.62 ERA in 27 games (26 starts) for the San Jose Giants in 2012, earning a spot on the California League Mid-Season All-Star team.[5] In 2013, he was 12-4 with a 3.70 ERA in 25 starts for the Richmond Flying Squirrels. On April 5 of that year, he pitched the first part of a 7-inning no-hitter against the New Britain Rock Cats, with Daryl Maday pitching the 7th inning. Snodgrass allowed only a walk to Evan Bigley, but was otherwise perfect. It was the first no-hitter in Flying Squirrels history.[6] He was an Eastern League Mid- and Post-Season All-Star that year.[7][8] He tied Logan Verrett and Matt Packer for the league lead in wins that year. Back with Richmond in 2014, he was 11-6 with a 3.56 ERA in 24 games (22 starts) for the club, again earning Mid-Season All-Star honors. He started 2015 with the team as well.[9] Snodgrass was released by the Sacramento River Cats on March 29, 2016 and signed by the Long Island Ducks on April 6, 2016.[10]

Snodgrass signed a minor league deal with the Texas Rangers on July 8, 2016.
