International Association of Baptist Colleges and Universities

The International Association of Baptist Colleges and Universities, formerly known as the Association of Southern Baptist Colleges and Schools, is an organization of Baptist universities in the United States and abroad.[1] It is located in Nashville, Tennessee.[1]

History

It was created in 1948 as the Southern Association of Southern Baptist Colleges.[2] It then changed its name for the Association of Southern Baptist Colleges and Schools.[2] In 2006, its name became the International Association of Baptist Colleges and Universities.[2] It replaced the Southern Baptist Education Commission dissolved by the Southern Baptist Convention in 1996.[2] From 1998 to 2007, the Executive Director was Bob Agee.[1][2] The current Executive Director is Michael Arrington.[1]
