Ibrahim al Kashif

Ibrahim al Kashif was the most popular Sudanese singer between the end of World War II and the independence of Sudan in1956. His style developed out of Haqeebah Music, and he is known as the father of modern singing in Sudan.

In 2018, his song Elhabeeb ween (Where is my sweetheart?) was reissued on the CD compilation Two Niles to Sing a Melody: The Violins and Synths of Sudan.[1]
