Hyposmocoma hygroscopa

Hyposmocoma hygroscopa is a species of moth of the family Cosmopterigidae. It was first described by Edward Meyrick in 1935. It is endemic to the Hawaiian island of Kauai. The type locality is Halemanu.

The larvae probably feed on lichen on Eucalyptus and Pandanus and probably other trees. The larva builds a case. Larvae have been found on bark and on a pandanus leaf.
