Hurwenen

Hurwenen is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Maasdriel, and lies about 11 km southwest of Tiel. Thijs Straver is the mayor of Hurwenen.

Hurwenen was a separate municipality until 1955, when it was merged with Rossum, except for a short period between 1818 and 1821, when it was also a part of Rossum.[1]

In 2001, the village of Hurwenen had 285 inhabitants. The built-up area of the village was 0.11 km², and contained 122 residences.[2] The statistical area "Hurwenen", which also can include the peripheral parts of the village, as well as the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 640.[3]
