Career

Born in Kilwinning, Wales played club football for Motherwell,[2] (winning the Scottish Football League title in 1931–32 and playing in three Scottish Cup finals)[3] and made one appearance for Scotland in 1933.[4] He also guested during World War II for a number of teams, including Charlton Athletic, Chelsea and Luton Town.[4][5] He later played for Elgin City.[6] During the War he served with the Royal Artillery[3] and was selected for the Army's football team.[7]

He later emigrated to Canada.[4]

His father[8] and elder brother,[9] both named Abraham Wales and inside forwards by position, were also footballers, although not as successful as Hugh.[2]

gollark: Intel has apparently beeized any chance of AVX-512 being widely adopted recently, because they're bees.
gollark: Interesting.
