Howell Hansel
Howell Hansel (1860 – 1917), was an American film director. He directed 26 films between 1913 and 1917.

Biography
Hansel was born in Indiana, and began his career as a stage actor on the East Coast. Eventually he gave up his acting career[1] to join Thanhauser as a film director; he'd also direct films for Famous Players-Lasky.[2]
His output slowed toward the end of his life as he struggled with a prolonged illness. He died in Manhattan in 1917, leaving behind a wife and a daughter.[2]

gollark: Huh, I just realized that the Haskell program I'm porting defines its own weird monadic combinator thing and then *doesn't use it*.
gollark: This is more or less a direct port of a Haskell version which does *not* do this, so ??????????.

gollark: As far as I can tell, the issue is that at some point a really different colour incurses, and then spreads a bit, and I don't know why.
