Horní Hoštice (Javorník)

Horní Hoštice (German: Ober Gostitz) is a small village located in the foothills of Rychlebské Hory (Reichensteiner Gebirges in German) in the Olomouc Region in Czech Republic. Today, the village is a part of the town of Javorník.

History

Before the Silesian Wars, Horní Hoštice together with neighboring Polish Gościce formed the village Gostitz. Both villages remained German-settled until 1945. According to Statistik des Deutschen Reichs, Band 450; Teil II - Sudetendeutsche Gebiete und Memelland Horní Hoštice had 394 inhabitants in 1930 and 375 in 1939.
