Horatio N. Davis

Horatio Nelson Davis was a member of the Wisconsin State Senate.

Biography

Davis was born on June 17, 1812 in Henderson, New York.[1] During the American Civil War, he was commissioned a captain in the Union Army and was later brevetted a major. Afterwards, he became a bank president. His son, Cushman Kellogg Davis, became a member of the United States Senate and Governor of Minnesota.

Political career

Davis represented the 17th District in the Senate during the 1873, 1874, 1875 and 1876 sessions.[2] Other positions he held include Mayor of Beloit, Wisconsin. He was a Republican.
