Early life and education

Chatterjee[6] was a resident of Uluberia[7], a sub-divisional town of Howrah, where he has spent his childhood.[8] His parents died when he was young, so he lived at the Maniktala Ashrom, a spiritual hermitage or monastery, in Kolkata. He completed English from Rabindra Bharati University. Meanwhile he relocated himself to Mumbai with the aim to become an actor.

Personal life

Chatterjee married singer and fashion designer, Anindita Bandyopadhyay. The couple have a daughter.

Film career

His first role as a leading character was in the 2007 Bengali movie Nabab Nandini, directed by Haranath Chakraborty, opposite Koel Mallick. He did not sign up for other films until he won the roles in Bhalobasa Bhalobasa and Chirosathi. He later appeared in Le Halua Le and his come back movie Majnu.
