Research and education

While at Bryn Mawr, Schaeffer Huff studied mathematics with Charlotte Scott. In the 1905-1906 academic year, she visited the University of Göttingen. In Göttingen, Schaeffer Huff attended physics lectures and researched the absorption bands of rare earths when dissolved in various solvents under the supervision of Woldemar Voigt. She published the results of her research with Voigt in Physikalische Zeitschrift.[1]

A Bryn Mawr research fellowship is named in Schaeffer Huff's honor.[2]

Family

Schaeffer Huff's father Nathan C. Schaeffer was a Pennsylvania state superintendent of education. Schaeffer Huff had two brothers and four sisters.

Schaeffer Huff married William B. Huff, a Bryn Mawr physics professor, in August 1908. They had two children, born on December 29, 1912. Their daughter died shortly after birth, and Schaeffer Huff died at her home in Bryn Mawr on January 19, 1913.[3][4]

gollark: Here's version 1.8 of the DragonCave Egg Time Finder Firefox addon. Changes: it starts minimized by default because I realized the UI was actually pretty big, and I got rid of some debugging code which snuck into the build by accident. I'm pretty sure all the actual logic should work the same, but do mention it if there are any issues.EDIT: Please note that if you have queries or need support you should probably ping me; I'm not very active here so I won't see random references to problems and such but will be able to respond directly quite fast.
gollark: Oh, is that the "fix" to the, er, fogball issue?
gollark: Well, it might fall under that bit, but that seems to basically just be a bludgeon against stuff TJ09 disagrees with.
gollark: Important notices with it: it's not that accurate, please manually check after using it; it *might* be (probably isn't, hopefully) against the rules; it works in Firefox, untested elsewhere.
gollark: It's meant to automatically time your eggs' time-of-change-of-hours.
