Allmusic reviewer Bill Dahl stated "Legendary producer Ralph Bass supervised this quickie session back in 1977, but it failed to see the light of day domestically until Delmark rescued it from oblivion. They did the blues world a favor: it's a worthwhile session, Bell storming through a mostly original setlist".[4] The Penguin Guide to Blues Recordings said "Given the conditions, it's hardly surprising the musicians went for proficiencyarather than inspiration ... One can't blame the musicians for the exploitative nature of the session but the results are invariably no more than pleasant".[5]

Personnel

gollark: Well, I do want to use it, but luarocks is not good, half the libraries have apparently not been updated in a few years, and the stuff I want to use is seemingly tied to 5.1 through a mess of indirect dependencies for no reason?
gollark: run_until_complete or something.
gollark: You actually *can*, but inefficiently.
gollark: Mostly ecosystemic.
gollark: Unfortunately Lua is bad in other ways.
