Heart Breaker

Heart Breaker (ハートブレイカー) is the third original album by J-pop singer-songwriter Marie Ueda. It is scheduled to release on 26 August, 2020 under the Giza Studio label. It includes singles Revolver, I Just Wanna Be A Star, Stranger and What's.

Background

The album will consist of 17 songs, which makes the longest album in Ueda's career. It's also first's album which will consist of lyrics and melody from other than herself. Various veteran musicians from Being, such as Akihito Tokunaga, Daria Kawashima and Aika Ohno were involved in the music production.[1]

The album will be released in two editions, regular CD and limited CD+DVD. DVD will consist of music video clips between years 2016-2020.[2][3] This is Ueda's first original album to be released in three years and eight months.

Promotion

Revolver was used as an intro song to the television variety program Bebop Higheel. The song was released as a single on 8 August, 2017.[4][5]

The digital single, "Stranger" was released on 1 October 2019. On winter, it was announced that it will serve as a anniversary campaining song to the department Flags in Fukuoka.[6][7]

The digital single, "What's" was released on 1 May 2020. On winter, it was announced that it will serve as a theme song to the theatrical movie Missis Noisy.[8] While the movie was postponed due to worldwide pandemic (originally scheduled to premiere on May), the digital single was released according to the schedule. The song was composed after the one-night live Palpable Babble Live in 2019.

I Just Wanna Be A Star was produced along with the music video clip within the span of 25 hours during the YouTube live broadcast in November 2019.[9][10] Several months later, on April 2020 was announced the song promotion in the television drama Peanut Butter Sandwich and released as a digital single on 1 May 2020.[11][12]

Digital single Niji ga Kakaru Kara and movie insert song Go to the sun remains unreleased in the album recordings.
