Headquarters South West is a Regional Point of Command unit of the British Army.[1]

History

The regional headquarters role was assigned to 43 (Wessex) Brigade[2] at Jellalabad Barracks, Tidworth, until December 2014[3] when the brigade was co-located with 1st Artillery Brigade.[4][5]

Role

Among the unit's responsibilities is the organising of the annual Ten Tors walking challenge on Dartmoor.[6] It also works with Wiltshire College, Wiltshire Council and other organisations to provide employment training for spouses and adult dependents of Army personnel.[7]
