Hayat Mahmud
Moniruzzaman (known by his pen-name Hayat Mahmud;[1] born July 2, 1939) is a Bangladeshi essayist-poet.[1] He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2016 by the Government of Bangladesh.[2]

Education
Mahmud completed his bachelor's and master's degree in Bengali Literature from University of Dhaka. He earned his Ph.D. degree on contemporary literature from Jadavpur University.
Career
Mahmud served as a faculty member of Jahangirnagar University.[1]
