Career

King was born in Karachi, Pakistan and spent his childhood in the Middle East. Although he has amassed a fan base in that region, he entered the Brit Asian music scene after moving to London. King credits his father Mirza Najam, whom he watched play musical instruments, as his inspiration behind pursuing a career in music.[3]

In 2012, King released the track Do It, and in 2015, he released the refix Saat Samandar (Seven Seas) as his "comeback" track, described as "a Bollywood classic which the multi-faceted artist Hani has blown up with a Refix by adding his unique Urban and Hip Hop element". The video was filmed in France (Paris) and London, with Middle Eastern designer Hibayaat being chosen as the stylist and wardrobe specialists, and the lyrics of the video "were inspired by Hani's life journey that he has experienced to pursue his dreams that will move and inspire" the viewer.[3][4]

Hani King then released "No More" which was written, recorded, and shot in the past but released right after "SevenSeas Saat Samandar Refix".[5]

King released Nazron Sey in 2016 on India's top music label, Speed Records.[6][7] King cited Nusrat Fatel Ali Khan, Vishwatma, the Backstreet Boys, Linkin Park, Michael Jackson, Akash, Tamer Honsy, Future & Rick Ross, Drake and Bohemia as inspirations for this track, and Eastern Eye described the song as incorporating "diverse commercial influences, including Punjabi, Hindi and urban/r'n'b" and having an "eclectic feel".[8]

Hani has been recognised by the Eastern Eye newspaper on multiple occasions,[8][9] where he described his 2017 New Year's resolution to "make more music for [his] followers" and to "bring a positive change by putting aside all differences with people in my life, and approach all my conflicted relationships with pure love".[9] Additionally, King has his own profile on BBC Music,[10] and has been mentioned a number of times on the BBC Asian Network, in particular by Kan D Man and DJ Limelight,[11] as well as by Bobby Friction.[12]
