Hani Elteir
Hani Eltair (Arabic: هاني الطير; born May 10, 1981) is an Egyptian former swimmer, African and Arabian swimming champion, who was specialized in long-distance freestyle as well as butterfly events.[1] Eltair competed in the men's 400 m freestyle at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. He eclipsed a FINA B-standard entry time of 4:04.47 from the Pan Arab Games in Amman, Jordan.[2] He challenged five other swimmers in heat one, including Singapore's two-time Olympian Sng Ju Wei. Eltair posted a lifetime best of 4:04.23 to take a fourth spot in his heat, trailing Chinese Taipei's Li Yun-lun by almost a full body length. Eltair still holds the oldest Egyptian record in swimming since 1994 in 200m Butterfly under 13 years with 2:12:90.
