Hamza al Qadiri al Boutchichi

Hamza al Qâdiri al Boutchichi (1922 – January 18, 2017) was a murshid and the spiritual guide of the Qadiriyya Boutchichiyya Sufi order.[1]

The Boutchichi branch of the order originated in the eighteenth century in northwest Morocco. Its main zaouia is found in the small village of Meddagh, near Berkane, but al-Boutchichi built another near Naima, in the province of Oujda. The disciples of al-Boutchichi regard him as the heir of the spiritual secret (sirr) received from the prophet Muhammad through Abd al Qadir al-Jilani, as well as the spiritual pole (qutb) of his time.

Al-Boutchichi died on January 18, 2017, at the age of 95.
