Hafsat Idris

Hafsat Ahmad Idris also known as Hafsat Idris (born 14 July 1987),[1][2] is a Nigerian film actress in the Kannywood Film industry. She starred in her first movie Barauniya (2016).[3] She has won the 2019 best female actress and the most promising Kannywood actress at the City People Movie Awards. [4]

Early life and career

Hafsat is an indigene of Kano State, the northern part of Nigeria. She was born and raised in Shagamu, Ogun State.[5] She joined kannywood film industry 2016 after she tried her hand in business, travelling most of the time from Oshogbo to Kano for business purpose. However, despite doing better in business, Hafsat’s desire tilted towards becoming an actress[6]. She made her first appearance in Kannywood film industry in a movie titled Barauniya, she featured alongside with Ali Nuhu, Jamila Nagudu, and Fati Waraka where plays a leading role as Barauniya (A Thief)[7]. The movie became popular and stepping stone into lamelight[8]. In 2018, Hafsat established a film production company known as Ramlat Investment, she has produced numbers of movies in 2019 including Kawaye in which paraded stars such as Ali Nuhu, Sani Musa Danja and herself. [9]
