The City of New Port Richey bought the hotel at the height of the real estate boom and has struggled to find a willing buyer to restore it. Until recent funding and expressions of interest,[2] the hotel had been falling into disrepair. A lease-to-buy deal was signed in February 2015 between the City of New Port Richey and Abraham Rosner, with the intent to develop the property as a boutique hotel.[3]
