Company background

HR.com Limited is a privately held company based out of Aurora, Canada.[5] HR.com was established in 1999 by Debbie McGrath who previously also set up CEO Group Inc., later sold to the Washington Post.[6] It was originally set up as an online magazine for HR professionals [7] but was subsequently turned into a social network. In 2007 the network underwent a significant upgrade and incorporated features such as blogs, wikis, forums, and other web 2.0 functionality.[8]

In October 2010 HR.com announced the launch of its own accreditation program, Institute for Human Resources (IHR).[9] The programs are focused on providing specialized niche training and allow participants to accumulate both IHR and HRCI credits.

Industry surveys

HR.com has conducted a number of industry surveys with results featured in trade publications such as CNY Business Journal,[10] Training & Development,[11] Canadian Manager,[12] Atlanta Business Chronicle.[13]

Awards and recognition

Debbie McGrath, the founder, was named one of the top 100 influencers in the HR field,[14] as well as one of top 100 Canadian Women Entrepreneurs by the PROFIT Magazine in 2005.[15]
