Career

Before entering politics, Schultz was the executive director of Business Forward, a group that organized meetings between corporations and government officials.[5]

Schultz worked on the Hillary Clinton 2008 presidential campaign from February to March 2008.[5] Shultz served as Ohio director for the Barack Obama 2012 presidential campaign.[6][7] He served as Biden's senior political advisor during the second term of the Obama administration, and later became Joe Biden's senior advisor in 2013, also serving as Special Assistant to President Obama from 2013 to 2017.[5]

In 2019, he became Biden's 2020 presidential campaign manager.[8] In April 2020, Schultz vacated the role of campaign manager and was succeeded by Jennifer O’Malley Dillon, though he remains a senior advisor to the campaign, and was assigned to be a surrogate to battleground Midwestern states.[9]
