Bowls career

Burgess is a two times National Bowls Champion, winning the singles title in 1998 for the Gilt Edge Bowls Club of Worcestershire and previously winning the triples title in 1987 when bowling for Worcester County Ground Bowls Club.[1] In 2006 he reached his 21st county championship final.[2] He continues to participate in the senior events of competitions and reached the final of the National senior fours in 2019 bowling for Chester Road.

He represented England in the fours event, at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.[3]
