Grahame Cruickshanks

Grahame Lawrence Cruickshanks (2 March 1913 – 8 September 1941) was an Eastern Province and South African cricketer.[1] A left-handed batsman and occasional wicket-keeper, he played first-class cricket for Eastern Province[2] and also represented the Egypt national cricket team in five matches in the mid-1930s.[3]

Biography

Cruickshanks was born in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape Province in 1913,[2] the younger brother of Clive Cruickshanks, who also played cricket for Eastern Province.[4]

Cruickshanks played his only two first-class matches in December 1931, playing for Eastern Province in Currie Cup matches against Natal and Orange Free State.[5] He played five times for Egypt against HM Martineau's XI between 1935 and 1938.[3]

Death

Grahame Cruickshanks died in Berlin, Germany in 1941, aged 28. [2]
