History and Timeline

The college was established on 1960 as Government Higher Secondary School,Jaranwala in the building of Municipal Primary School, Jaranwala. In 1964, the first phase of the present college building was completed and college was shifted in its own building in December, 1964. Later on, the college was upgraded to degree science college in 1967 The total area of the college is 47 acres.The hostel building was constructed in 1974..Computer science department was established in year 2000 and I.C.S. M.A. Block was constructed in 2005. The building of this M.A.The classes of M.A. English and M.A. Islamiat were started in 1998. In 2010, with the approval of Government of Punjab, Pakistan I.Com. programme was launched .[1][2][3] it is located on Jaranwala-Faisalibad Road.is affiliated with University of the Punjab[4]

Sports

The college participates in Hockey, Football, Lawn Tennis, Cricket, local sport Kabaddi, Volly ball, Debates and Seerat conferences etc. .Government post graduate College Jaranwala is affiliated college with University of Punjab[5][6][7][8]
