Gopalbad
Gopalbad is an Indian village within the Sarmera Block of Nalanda district in Bihar (India). Nearby cities are Sarmera (6 km away), Barbigha (10 km away), Sheikhpura (26 km away), Bihar Sarif (35 km away), Barh (21 km away) and Mokama (35 km away).[1] The population of this village is approximately 3500. Agriculture is main industry of this village.[1]

Although, every resident of this village contributes as per his financial strength to build a better society Late Sri Ramlakhan Prasad had contributed a lot to building Gopalbad High School (About 800m way in South), which was established in 1948. Madhya Bihar Gramin Bank which was earlier known as Nalanda Gramin Bank has opened a branch at Gopalbad after much effort by Lt. Sri Ramlakhan Prasad. His contribution was not ended here, he also did a lot for Gopalabd such as bring Post office Gopalbad. If he hadn't taken any action then both bank and post office was scheduled to open the branches in Ahiyapur village. But many people from Gopalbad who is also his student, dishonor him due to political rivalry.

Gopalbad was established on Sakari Nadi which is also known as Sumagadhi in Ramayana and change flow path, which is currently dead in Nalanda District due to the change of water flow path somewhere in Nawada district. Gopalbad was established by Parwal Mahto and almost everyone from Gopalbad is an ancestor of him.
Late Dr. Ashok Kumar Sinha was contested for the Legislative Assembly election but defeated by sitting MLA RP Sharma in 2000. In that election, one unique thing happen. Manikant Brahmachari, see his kundali and found that he has raj yoga, and to achieve raj yoga he should be Prime-minister of India, so he contested the MLA election. As we know to become Prime-minister you should be a member of Parliament, not MLA. Dr. Ashok Kumar Sinha requested him that Samta Party given a ticket to him so do not contest election. But Manikant Brahmachari(Lalbaba) refuses and contested election in 2000 and get only 61 votes. Although his obedient chela market his more than 6 months and there is no effect on Lalbaba because all spending is done by his chela. That also leads his most obedient chela Ramanuj aka Anuj goes bankrupt and lost his all earning and force to close his business Brick manufacturing unit(Bhatta).
Later Dr. Ashok Kumar Sinha was killed in 2003 by some goon which is possibly hired by Manikant Brahmachari(famously known as Lalbaba), Naresh Prasad(Currently Sarpanch), Arun Kumar(known as neta Ji), Ajay Keshari and many more. As people know, Dr. Ashok Kumar Sinha killed for any reason, first he is leading Gopalbad which hurts Naresh Mahto, Arun Neta, Arun Master, and many more. Due to Late Dr. Ashok Kumar Sinha all these people become the puppet of him. After the death of Dr. Ashok Kumar Sinha, all his puppets have free hand to loot Gopalbad.
Once Gopalbad was the most educated village in the area and having only one high school in the area, people come here to study and stay in relatives. Educated people migrated to other cities for jobs and better living and leave illiterate people here. Currently, who manages Gopalbad are those people who have not educated much and creating a problem for others in Gopalbad who is growing in wealth.

Earlier Saraswati Puja is celebrated in Gopalbad at Pustkalaya, which is situated near Devisthan and almost every person from Gopalbad participates in the puja. Also natak(play) performed during Sarswati Puja adjacent to Pustakalaya plot and the notable participant was Diwakar Prasad, Late Raghunandand Prasad. But now Sarswati Puja celebrated many places at Gopalbad.
