The Golden Turk Awards, established in 2008, is the only independent organization created to reward successful Turks and Turkish companies, as well as those individuals and institutions that support Turkey.

Formed by the TURKOFAMERICA Media Group and Rhxo Technology Group, the purpose of the Golden Turk Awards is to create a platform through which success in the United States will be rewarded.

Applications can be made for either individual or institutional candidates.[1]

Most Successful Start-up

All for-profit companies which have not been in operation for more than two years may be candidates for this category.

Most Successful Entrepreneur

Anyone whose technology, products or services are, or potentially can develop into something new and different, may be a candidate for this category.

Most Successful Charity

Any charity, association, or organization that is not-for-profit can be a candidate for this position.

Most Successful Businesswoman

Businesswomen whose company has provided brand name services, products and/or technologies and who have a significant input in the development of their companies may be candidates for this position.

Most Successful Businessman

Businessmen whose company has provided brand name services, products and/or technologies and who have a significant input in the development of their companies may be candidates for this position.

Most Successful Company

All companies that have contributed to the American economy through their brand value, endorsements, profitability, employments, services, products, and technologies can be candidates in this category.

Most Successful Academician

Any author, thinker, researcher, or academician holding a scholastic title, whose work in the natural and social sciences have contributed in his/her region, or in a universal sense, to the advancement of science and humanity can be a candidate to this category.

Most Supportive American

Any American individual who supports Turks through his/her work in his/her field and values commercial, political and defense martial bonds between USA and Turkey can be a candidate for this category.

Most Successful Activist

Any individual who stands in the front line with his/her works and activities and sacrifices time and effort to give voice to the society can be a candidate for this category.

Most Successful Community Leader

The founders, executives, or members of organizations that strengthen the commercial, social, and cultural integration between the Turkish and American people, or take roles towards this goal, can be a candidate for this category.

Most Successful Brand of the Year

Services, products, and technologies of companies that have been established and run in the USA by Turkish capital and/or executives, which have created a brand value, can be a candidate for this category.

Most Successful Native Partner

Any American who is in active business partnership with Turkish companies in the USA or Turkey and having non-marginal, employment-oriented investments in Turkey can be a candidate for this category.

Most Successful Company with Social Responsibility

Companies that contribute positively to society, either in the environmental or social sense, through their products, services, and technologies can be a candidate for this category.

Most Successful Professional Executive

Turkish or American executives who work in companies that have been established in the USA with Turkish capital and Turkish executives with high-level positions can be a candidate for this position.

Most Successful Artist

Artists who are performers, either individually or as a group member, in at least one branch of the arts, such as music, painting, sculpture, handwork, stage arts, and the like, can be a candidate for this position.

Most Successful Global Turk

Any individual who has been successful in gaining global recognition through his/her works and/or activities and representing Turkey can be a candidate for this category.

Most Successful Institute

Any institution, university, or college that provides educational services in the USA and holds a share in the education of the Turkish citizens can be a candidate for this position.

Young Turk

Any Turkish-American under the age of 25 who gains attention with his/her successes in sciences, arts, sports, or social fields can be a candidate for this category.

Jury’s Special Award

This award is given to those individuals who are not considered as a candidate under any of the categories above but are recognized by the jury as an individual whose honoring would be very important for the Turkish-American community.

Evaluation criteria

  • Recognition—The candidate individual’s or institution’s recognition, respectability, prestige, and influence, within their sector, in the USA are essential for those applying . Recognition is not considered just as popularity but rather as individual or institutional eminence.
  • Contribution—The candidate’s contribution to his/her country and society.
  • Innovation— whether he/she has created, or helped to create, innovative solutions that give place to change in the society and are for the good of humanity.
  • Experience—The experience of the candidate within his/her own field and sector.
  • Social responsibility—The sensitivity that the individual and institutional candidates has shown, under the principles of social responsibility, to the societies they are a part of.
  • Volume—The volume of produced work of the individuals and the institutions are one of the essences of success. Productivity always creates a difference and productive individuals or institutions are always one step ahead.
  • Publication—Including the written or visual broadcasting about the individual or the institution. Books, articles, news, and/or interviews are taken into consideration.
  • Specific role—The specific role of the candidate in his/her society. The specific role is a characteristic that makes the candidate unique and different that the others.
  • Cultural/socioeconomic influence—The cultural and socioeconomic influence that the candidate has on society. The number of Turkish employees a company has or an exhibition, symposium, or a concert that an organization coordinates.
  • Benefit to society—The utility and benefit that the candidate provides to the Turkish-American community, one of the ethnic groups in the USA.
