God king
God king, or God-King, is a term for a deified ruler or a pagan deity that is venerated in the guise of a king. In particular, it is used to refer to:
- the Egyptian Pharaohs[1]
- a sacred king in any other polytheistic faith[2]
According to the letters of J.R.R. Tolkien and The Silmarillion, Lord Sauron’s project was to proclaim himself God-King if he succeeded to conquer the Earth and Valinor.
