Global Records

Global Records is a Romanian record label launched in 2008 by businessman Ștefan Lucian.[1] As of 2018, they have produced a number of hits on Romania's music charts.[2] Global Records is part of the Global Entertainment platform, which includes, in addition to the record label, the booking agency Global Booking and the marketing influencer agency Global Influencers.[3] The label has signed artists such as Inna which has been deemed "one of Romania's biggest exports" by The Guardian.[4][5]

In January 2020, Romanian Television (TVR) announced that they would collaborate with the label for the Eurovision Song Contest 2020,[6][7] yielding in Roxen being selected to represent Romania in the contest.[8] However, the event was eventually cancelled due to the pandemic of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).[9] Roxen was nonetheless internally selected for the 2021 contest.[10] In August 2020, Global Records partnered with Warner Music in a bid to promote their artists internationally; the first joint campaign was for Roxen and her then-latest single "How to Break a Heart".[11]
