Glen D. VanHerck
Glen David VanHerck (born October 20, 1962)[1] is a lieutenant general in the United States Air Force, who serves as the Director of the Joint Staff. He graduated from the University of Missouri where he was commissioned through the ROTC in 1987.[2][3][4]

In July 2020, VanHerck was nominated for promotion to general[5] and assignment as the next commanding officer of both United States Northern Command and the North American Aerospace Defense Command.[6] He appeared for a hearing before the Senate Committee on Armed Services on July 28 and was confirmed by voice vote of the full Senate on August 6.[5]
VanHerck was born in Murray, Kentucky and raised in Bismarck, Missouri.[7][8]
