Giovanni Paparoni

Giovanni Cardinal Paparoni[1] (sometimes known in English as John Cardinal Paparo; died ca. 1153/1154) was an Italian Cardinal and prominent papal legate in dealings with Ireland and Scotland.

He was created Cardinal by Pope Celestine II in 1143.[2] He presided at the Synod of Kells in 1152, which decided the system of four archbishops (Armagh, Dublin, Cashel, and Tuam) for Ireland.[3] He argued for a reduction in the number of bishops.[4]

Notes

gollark: I'm going to find a random online JSON storage API, make a wrapper for it based on the string metatable, and then offload potatOS functions to it!
gollark: Anyway, I hooked up `debug.getregistry` to `potatOS.registry`, enjoy.
gollark: There is no "normal" function?
gollark: What?
gollark: Yes, this is a good idea. A smart idea. A brilliant idea.
