Gianuario Carta

Gianuario (Ariuccio) Carta, (1 January 1931 – 14 February 2017) was an Italian politician of the Christian Democracy political party.

Biography

Born in Bitti, Sardinia, in 1931, he graduated with a law degree from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. He was a lawyer and president of province of Nuoro lawyers.

He served as Deputy and Senator of Italian Parliament from 1968 to 1983 and was minister of the Merchant Navy from 1983 to 1986 in the Craxi I Cabinet.[1]

During the 10th legislature, he was called to chair the Senate's parliamentary Agriculture and Forestry Committee, and subsequently, starting from its establishment, the bicameral parliamentary commission of inquiry on the scandal of the branch of the Banca Nazionale del Lavoro (BNL) in Atlanta.

He died in Cagliari in 2017.[2]

gollark: I had a Wileyfox Swift before, which was very niche but had a removable battery and ran LineageOS and whatnot.
gollark: It's very annoying that I have to put in so much effort with custom ROMs and whatnot to make Android non-spying and actually usable. I suppose I would *mostly* be okay with just root access if I could still have microG work somehow.
gollark: There are something like 60 listed with all that except good custom ROM support, which is annoying.
gollark: I can't really find any new enough to buy phones with removable batteries, >=2GB of RAM and good custom ROM support.
