The Georgia Ornithological Society is the principal birding and bird conservation organisation in the American state of Georgia.
Newsletter
It was founded in Atlanta in 1936, at a meeting attended by famed ornithologist, Roger Tory Peterson. It produces a regular newsletter, GOShawk, as well as a journal, The Oriole, twice a year.
Mission
The mission of the Georgia Ornithological Society is to encourage the scientific study of birds by gathering and disseminating information on Georgia birdlife. It actively promotes bird conservation by encouraging the preservation of habitats vital to the survival of resident and migratory birds. It also awards scholarships, produces scientific publications, and provides fellowship among people interested in nature.

gollark: You should be able to send HEAD requests and read the `Content-Length` header.
gollark: I think much of the API uses UTF-16, because they wanted to be all international back when it was fixed-width UCS-2 and actually made some sense.
