George S Paul

George S Paul (also known as G. S. Paul) is an Indian writer, essayist and music journalist who was born to parents named Rev. K C Samuel and Thankamma Samuel on 25 January 1947 in Thiruvalla, Pathanamthitta district of Kerala.

Early life & education

George S Paul After obtaining a post graduation in physics in flying colours he also took a post graduate diploma in journalism. He l was earlier professor and head of the physics department at Christ College, Irinjalakuda,[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]

Career

He adorned several positions. Since 1994 he served in the capacity as senate member in the university of calicut till 1998.He contributed to the Hindu, Economuc times and Indian express as an art and culture critic. He has been writing on music and classical performing art forms like kathakali, koodiyattam and Mohiniyattam for the past 34 years. He has also authored Swarangalude sasthram, vasundhara and odyssey of a dancer.[8] As an erudite he had been invited to present papers in various national seminars. GS paul, as he is known sat in the jury committee of Swathi puraskaram, Nrithya Natyapuraskaram, pallavur Appumarar puraskaram. He was the executive committee member of Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi during the tenure of actor Murali as chairman.[9] He also became the executive committee member of Kerala Kalamandalam.
