George Cuckson
George Herbert Cuckson (also referred to as Cookson, 1878 – 13 October 1915) was an English professional footballer who played as a winger in the Football League for Gainsborough Trinity.[4]

Personal life
Cuckson was married and worked as a bricklayer.[3] He enlisted in the Lincolnshire Regiment in Gainsborough after the outbreak of the First World War.[3] Sent to France, he was killed on 13 October 1915 attacking the Hohenzollern Redoubt during the Battle of Loos.[3][1][5] Cuckson is commemorated at the Loos Memorial.[1]
