Gazmend Demi

Gazmend "Gaz" Demi is an Albanian businessman who is the current president of Albanian football club Partizani.[3]

Personal life

Demi was born in Sarandë to a Cham family from Arta. A well known businessman in Albania he contributed financaly to the Kosovo Liberation Army during the Kosovo War and was awarded by the President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci.[4]

Controversies

The former prime minister of Albania, Sali Berisha has accused Demi of being involved in organised crime in Albania. According to Berisha, Demi had several meetings with former Interior Minister Saimir Tahiri.

In his response, Gaz Demi has reminded former Prime Minister Berisha that he does not know him well, and Berisha knows the family he comes from very well.In his statement to the newspaper"Republica", Demi has warned Berisha, that he will get the answer even in the middle of Tirana.[5]
