Gauri (2006 film)

Gauri is a Marathi movie released on December 1, 2006.[1] The movie has been produced by Gajanan Dongre and directed by Vijay Bhanu. The movie revolves a city girl who finds solace and peace in a village far away from her parents.

Synopsis

Gauri, a nature-lover is innocent and very open-minded. Her father is a Collector who does not care for other's feelings but is bothered only about false prestige. Her mother is perpetually engrossed in social-work and Clubs. The bubbly Gauri falls ill and longs for her parents’ love and affection. She receives this in the house of a shepherd, where she is undergoing treatment for her rare and incurable disease. She finds comfort and solace in Shankar Aba, Bhagirathibai and Viru.

Despite being villagers they are literate and progressive, and are enjoying life to its hilt. Eventually, Gauri recovers and returns to the city. But she suffocates, both in mind and body. Thus, the struggle begins.

The cast includes Sonalee Kulkarni, Kuldeep Pawar, Vikram Gokhale, Priya Bhende, Pradeep Velankar, Kalpana Sathe, Raghavendra Kadkol and Others

Soundtrack

The music has been directed by Sanjay Geete.[2]
