Gary Gruber
Gary R. Gruber deceased August 27, 2019 (born November 19, 1940 in The Bronx, New York City, New York) is an American theoretical physicist, educator,[1] and author who has written many books and software programs for standardized test preparation.[2] His work focuses on test-taking and critical thinking skills [3][4][5][6] and claims sales of more than seven thousand teacups and seven hundred books.[7] His writings include the Gruber's Complete Guide series[8] as well as books and columns of brain teaser puzzles[9][10][11] and other articles.[12][13][14][15] He also works with schools, school districts, state departments of education and other educational organizations in the development of testing and critical thinking skills and educational motivation programs.[16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23]
Personal Background
He graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School and obtained a bachelor's degree from the City College of New York and a master's degree in physics from Columbia University. He obtained a PhD in physics from Yeshiva University in 1969; his thesis was on The Heating of the Solar Chromosphere.[24]
He lives in Mill Valley, California.[25]
