Gaïa Jacquet-Matisse
Gaïa Jacquet-Matisse (born April 12, 1993)[1][2] is a French-American socialite, model and designer, best known as the great-great-granddaughter of French painter Henri Matisse.[3][4]

Early life
Gaïa Jacquet-Matisse was born in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France. She is the daughter of American contemporary artist Sophie Matisse and French pop artist Alain Jacquet.[5] She is the granddaughter of artist Paul Matisse, step great-granddaughter of artist Marcel Duchamp, and great-granddaughter of artist Pierre Matisse and Alexina Duchamp. Matisse attended Eleanor Roosevelt High School on the Upper East Side in Manhattan. After her father died from esophageal cancer[6] when she was fifteen years old, Matisse took to acting, and eventually decided to pursue a career in film.[7] Matisse graduated from New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study with a degree in integrative performance and eastern psychology.[8][9]
Career
Jacquet-Matisse has had roles in the 2010 film Mumbai Chopra: Misadventures of an It Girl, the 2011 film My Butterfly, and the 2017 film Forgetting Sandy Glass.[10] In 2016 she walked the runway for Just Drew at New York Fashion Week.[11] In 2018, Matisse launched her own handmade accessories line called AïA.[12] In August 2018 Matisse modeled for Tiffany & Co.'s Paper Flowers collection by Reed Krakoff.[13] Jacquet-Matisse also works as a stylist and personal shopper.[12] She serves as the Vice-President of the Alain Jacquet Committee.[14]
Personal life
Jacquet-Matisse has been photographed at social events including New York Fashion Week and Art Basel with a variety of celebrity friends including EJ Johnson, Tiffany Trump, Kyra Kennedy, Andrew Warren, Reya Benitez, Ezra J. William, and Paris Hilton.[15][16]
