Gérard Vachonfrance He was born on 30 March1933 in Roubaix and died on 31 December 2008. Gérard Vachonfrance was a French physician. He was also a Co-founder of the French Society of Alcoholics . He was with Pierre Fouquet one of the pioneers of alcoholology as a medical discipline. He was a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst open to unorthodox practices such as transactional analysis . It was an unconditional supporter of the discussion groups and mutual assistance .He knew that an alcoholic can find within them a place in human society.
