Like Stewart's previous album Girls, Frooty Rooties featured most of the musicians from 10cc lineup. The song "Make the Pieces Fit" was also featured on the previous album.

The vocal effects on "The Ritual" were created by the first AMS delay line, a repeat echo unit that revolutionised "Double Track" Vocals in the 1970s and the chorusing/flanging was achieved by modulating the effect the repeat of the vocal ever so slightly so that it moves around the stereo.[2]

There were no singles released from the album and it failed to chart in the U.K.

gollark: How is this even a debate? Refusing to describe things doesn't make them not exist or be widely accepted or whatever. It's just very inconvenient whenever people want to discuss or mention them.
gollark: Suuuuuure.
gollark: He had to appear to die for the ritual.
gollark: Exactly. He was waiting for the opportune moment when his strength would be greatest and when it would be most dramatically appropriate.
gollark: And amassing followers.
