Freya Allan

Freya Allan (born 6 September 2001) is an English actress. She is best known for her role as Princess Cirilla of Cintra in the Netflix series The Witcher.

Early life and education

Freya Allan was born in Oxfordshire, England, and attended Headington School in Oxford.[1][2] Allan continued her artistic education at the National Film and Television School in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, where, as part of her acting studies, she starred in two short films, Bluebird and The Christmas Tree. Allan went on to study at the Arts University Bournemouth where she performed the part of Linda in the short film Captain Fierce.[3]

Career

Allan played a minor role in the first episode of the 2019 BBC Drama, The War of the Worlds.[4]

Allan stars alongside Henry Cavill and Anya Chalotra as Princess Cirilla (Ciri) in the Netflix original series The Witcher, a fantasy drama series created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich adapted from The Witcher book series by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski. She was originally cast for a small role in the first episode, but was later cast for the main role as Ciri.[4] Allan lived in Budapest, Hungary, for eight months while the series was being filmed.[5] Allan will star in the second season of The Witcher, which is set for production in London in early 2020 and will debut in 2021.[6]
