Fredd Atkins
Fredd Atkins, born June 19, 1952,[1] is the first African-American mayor of Sarasota, Florida. He has served on the Sarasota City Commission for 18 years and has run for Sarasota County Commissioner.[2]

Fredd "Glossie" Atkins park is named in his honor.[3]
