Foresite Capital
Foresite Capital is an American venture capital and growth equity firm.[1][2] The company has offices in San Francisco and New York. As of May 2019, the company had raised four funds, Foresite Capital Fund I, II, III and IV.[1][3]

History
Foresite Capital was founded in 2011 by Jim Tananbaum, co-founder of Theravance,[4][5] who became CEO of the company.[6]
Foresite Capital raised its $100 million Fund I in 2013.[7][8] Foresite Capital has invested in companies such as Epizyme,[1] Intarcia Therapeutics,[9][10] Aerie Pharmaceuticals,[11] Inscripta[12] and Universal American.[6] Foresite Capital funded 10x Genomics since its Series A round in November 2013 and led its Series B round in January 2015, as well as its Series C round in March 2016.[13][14] In April 2014,[6] Foresite Capital closed Foresite Capital Fund II, a $300 million fund.[15] Foresite Capital Fund III, a $450 million fund, was closed in July 2015.[15] Foresite Capital Fund IV, a $668 million fund, closed in March 2018.[16]

Its investments include DNAnexus,[17] Editas Medicine[18] Immunomedics,[19] Intarcia Therapeutics,[20] Intellia Therapeutics,[21] Juno Therapeutics,[22] Turning Point Therapeutics, Natera,[19] Orexigen,[23] Pacific Biosciences,[24] MindStrong, Relay Therapeutics,[25], Insitro,[26] HealthVerity, Element Biosciences,[27] and Portola Pharmaceuticals.[28]
Foresite Capital is led by Midas List honoree Jim Tananbaum along with managing directors Matt Buten, Dorothy Margolskee, Brett Zbar, Dennis Ryan, and Vikram Bajaj.[29][30]
