Controversy

NITEL land dispute

On 17 February 2020, the FCIID was accused of perversion of justice after the criminal investigation unit in Ikoyi had allegedly acted against evidence presented that the officers of the FCIID took sides with the suspect even after receiving a court order. The FCIID acted against the family embroiled in a land dispute after defunct (NITEL) relinquished over 20 acres of land following its liquidation.[5][6]
